On March 31, 2026, a significant milestone for local education was celebrated at a mock cheque ceremony in Seremban. Renowned businessman Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai and Malaysia’s largest number forecast operator, STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, jointly contributed RM1 million to SMJK Chan Wa. The ceremony, which celebrated the donation of RM500,000 from each party, was witnessed by YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Seremban.
Expanding Facilities for Future Generations
This generous RM1 million contribution is dedicated to supporting the construction of a new four-storey administrative block at the school. This new facility will drastically improve the learning environment by housing:
- Purpose-built Art Rooms and Craft Studios.
- Computer labs and dedicated STEM learning spaces.
- A modern double-storey library designed to replace the school’s existing 60-year-old library.
Furthermore, this expansion project will allow SMJK Chan Wa to relocate its current teachers’ offices to the new administrative block. By doing so, the former office spaces will be converted into additional classrooms, enabling the school to admit more students each year.

A Shared Vision for Empowering Youth
The donors share a strong commitment to empowering the youth and the community through equitable access to education.
- Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, Executive Chairman of Top Glove Corporation Bhd, stated that quality education is a crucial life investment that opens doors and shapes futures.
- He expressed his hope that this contribution will help SMJK Chan Wa create better opportunities for students and nurture future generations who will positively contribute to society.
- Echoing this sentiment, Dato’ Sri Robin Tan, Chairman of Sports Toto Berhad, noted that contributing to education is an investment in our children, the community, and the country.
- Expressing deep gratitude on behalf of the school, Dato’ Oh Kok Khim, Chairman of the School Board, highlighted that the new facilities will significantly enhance the school’s capacity to offer high-quality education and welcome more students.
SMJK Chan Wa has a long and proud history of nurturing students since its founding in 1918. With this joint support from Tan Sri Dr Lim and STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, the school is exceptionally well-positioned to strengthen its legacy of academic excellence and provide a brighter future for its growing student population.
