Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai at UNISEL on Knowledge, Health and Success

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai with UNISEL students and university representatives at the public lecture on 13 October 2026

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai shared his perspective on knowledge, health and entrepreneurship at a public lecture at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) on 13 October 2026. The session brought students, lecturers and university staff together at Dewan Kuliah 2, Bangunan Berlian, Shah Alam Campus.

Organised by UNISEL’s Faculty of Business and Accountancy with Selangor Business School, the lecture was delivered in his capacity as an Honorary Professor of UNISEL and Executive Chairman of Top Glove Corporation Bhd.

Rethinking success for the next generation

The lecture, The Wealth of Knowledge, The Wealth of Health: Rethinking Success for the Next Generation – An Entrepreneur’s Perspective, explored how learning and personal wellbeing shape the way people build their careers and businesses.

According to UNISEL’s event report, Tan Sri Dr Lim encouraged the audience to look beyond material achievement when considering success. His discussion connected a balanced life with self-discipline, a willingness to improve and the ability to keep learning as circumstances change.

The 5 Wells approach

He also introduced the “5 Wells”, a framework he applies to everyday life and working culture:

  • Clean Well — consistent personal hygiene
  • Eat Well — balanced eating habits
  • Work Well — proactive, effective work and a positive outlook
  • Exercise Well — making time for physical activity
  • Sleep Well — allowing time for sleep and rest

Presented as part of his personal philosophy, the framework accompanied a wider message: knowledge becomes meaningful when it is put into practice through action, discipline and sustained effort.

Learning through industry experience

UNISEL President and Vice-Chancellor Prof Emeritus Ir Dato Dr Hassan Basri welcomed the opportunity for students to learn directly from an industry leader. The programme included a Top Glove corporate video and a question-and-answer session on entrepreneurship, career development and business principles.

The session concluded with a presentation of a memento and a group photograph with university leaders and Top Glove representatives.
