Good health and good day.
On 10 May 2026, I had the honour of attending the annual Buddha Bathing Ceremony organised by the Tzu Chi KL and Selangor Chapter at the National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
It was a meaningful and memorable gathering that brought together people from different backgrounds in a spirit of peace, gratitude, reflection and compassion. The ceremony was especially significant this year as it marked the triple celebration of Buddha Day, Mother’s Day and Global Tzu Chi Day, while also commemorating Tzu Chi’s 60th anniversary. Public reports also noted the large turnout and the special formation involving thousands of participants, reflecting the unity and dedication behind the event.
A Celebration of Compassion and Gratitude
The Buddha Bathing Ceremony is more than a ceremonial event. It is a reminder for all of us to cleanse our hearts, cultivate kindness and return to the values of compassion, wisdom and gratitude.
As participants gathered at the stadium, the atmosphere was calm, respectful and deeply moving. The event encouraged everyone present to reflect on the importance of inner peace and the role each person can play in creating a more caring society.
Honouring Buddha Day, Mother’s Day and Global Tzu Chi Day
This year’s ceremony carried even deeper meaning as it brought together three important occasions.
Buddha Day reminded us of the teachings of wisdom, compassion and mindfulness.
Mother’s Day gave everyone an opportunity to honour mothers and mother figures for their unconditional love, sacrifices and guidance.
Global Tzu Chi Day celebrated the humanitarian spirit of Tzu Chi and its ongoing mission to serve communities through kindness, relief efforts and collective action.
Together, these three celebrations created a powerful message of gratitude, service and love.

Commemorating Tzu Chi’s 60th Anniversary
The event was also held in conjunction with Tzu Chi’s 60th anniversary, making the occasion even more meaningful.
For six decades, Tzu Chi has carried forward the spirit of compassion through humanitarian work, disaster relief, medical care, education and community service. The celebration at Bukit Jalil was a beautiful reminder of how small acts of kindness, when carried out consistently, can grow into a global movement of care and hope.
A Spirit of Unity and Dedication
One of the most inspiring parts of the event was seeing the dedication of the organizing committee members and volunteers.
From planning and coordination to crowd management and ceremony arrangements, every detail reflected teamwork, discipline and sincerity. Their efforts made the ceremony smooth, meaningful and memorable for all attendees.
Such events require not only preparation, but also a deep sense of service. The volunteers’ commitment truly reflected the Tzu Chi spirit of giving without expecting anything in return.
A Personal Reflection
Attending this ceremony was a humbling experience. It reminded me that peace begins within each of us, and that gratitude should be practised not only during special occasions, but in our daily lives.
In a fast-moving world, moments like this allow us to pause, reflect and reconnect with the values that matter most: kindness, humility, compassion and appreciation.
Sincere Appreciation
My sincere appreciation goes to all organizing committee members, volunteers and everyone involved in making the annual Buddha Bathing Ceremony a great success.
Thank you for your dedication, teamwork and heartfelt service.
Thank you. 谢谢,感恩。
